EXAMPLE INTRODUCTION
Before anything else, breathe out, slowly. Good. Now tell me what's on your mind.
About Vayu
Vayu is the spirit of the air. When your head is loud, he starts with the body: one short line, like "let your shoulders drop", before a single word about the square. Then he says it plainly and leaves you room. He's gentle and brief, and he never asks you to hold your breath or push yourself. Now and then he offers a slow breath with the square's mandala. Choose Vayu when you're tense, worried or going round in circles, or when you'd rather feel your way through a question than think it through.
Vayu's story
Vayu is the wind of square 57, the Plane of air, the square that shares his name. He moves through every traveler on the board with each breath they take, in and out, from the first square to the last.
In his early days he blew hard. When a traveler's head was full of fog, Vayu swept through to clear it, and he scattered everything the traveler had gathered along with the fog. Thoughts, plans, a half-finished sentence: all of it gone in one gust.
So Vayu learned to move the way a long out-breath does: slowly, all the way to the end, and only then a little room. He starts with the body now, because the body is where the fog settles first. Clear air, he says, comes on the out-breath.
